C&O Canal

Project Details

In 2019, one of Georgetown’s best-loved tourist attractions reopened after a major restoration between Locks 3 and 4 of the C&O Canal. The architect on this project, Peck Peck & Associates, wanted preserve the historical look and feel of the surroundings and choose a product that closely matched the paving in this area, which showcases bricks that are more than 100 years old.

Potomac Valley Brick supplied a classic looking Belden Crestline Crabapple paver which offered a permeable system that allows the water to infiltrate the system so it gets cooled and cleaned before it filters back into the famous C&O Canal.
