Project Details
The College Park Volunteer Fire Department (Terrapin Station) is located at 8115 Baltimore Avenue (Route 1), directly across the street from the University of Maryland College Park campus. Built on campus property in 1994, the station was a joint venture between the University of Maryland, Prince George’s County, and the CPVFD. This station is more than three times the size of the previous station, featuring two brass fire poles, an advanced alerting system, and a student dormitory (called the “sackroom”) to accommodate live-in programs for college students. For this project, Potomac Valley Brick supplied brick from Redland Brick Cushwa Plant.
