Project Details
The Copley, located in the heart of Downtown Crown, offers light-filled filled condominiums, from spacious flats to soaring, two-story lofts. The buildings are within walking distance of an endless array of neighborhood shops, restaurants, cafés and entertainment options.
The architect envisioned an adaptive reuse look for the three condo buildings. Potomac Valley Brick recommended creating the look of a repurposed factory by using brick with color and texture that would cause it to appear aged, along with a dark mortar. To accomplish this, Potomac Valley Brick supplied a brick manufactured by Triangle Brick that had a hard flash and gunmetal blue flashing.
For the property’s outdoor spaces, Potomac Valley Brick supplied a structural brick from Endicott Clay to accomplish the clean, elegant look the landscape architect envisioned. The structural wall includes a 6” structural unit with four finished ends. By going up once with a double face, the architect was able to achieve cost savings of nearly 40 percent versus using gray block and veneering both sides. And since brick is colorfast, the materials used offer a long-term, timeless solution.
