The Edmund

Halley Rise is an experiential community in Reston, VA that’s shaping the future. Part of this vibrant area is The Edmund, an apartment complex offering residents contemporary units and access to an extensive suite of amenities and services. MV+A Architects was challenged with combining a nearly 100,000 sf. Wegmans and additional inline retail spaces with The Edmund's 353 apartment units above. To create a harmonizing yet distinct mix, the architect chose a palette that utilized two primary aesthetic expressions: a lighter brick residential exterior above with a darker brick retail below. For this project, Potomac Valley Brick supplied 40% Gray Blend, 40% Steel Gray Smooth, 40% Steel Gray Velour, 20% Marble Gray Velour, and Westchester Velour brick, all from Acme Brick.
